This beautiful detached cottage comes with its own piece of ancient history; surrounding the rear courtyard is the 13th century Abbot’s Wall.

Built in 1890, this handsome detached cottage has been beautifully modernised to create a stunning bolthole for family getaways or breaks with friends. Designed with entertaining in mind, the spacious kitchen/diner opens onto a sunny patio through French doors, perfect for al fresco dining. A short stroll brings you into the centre of Charmouth and its popular pubs, fish bar and picturesque beach, while the charming seaside town of Lyme Regis is just 2 miles away.

Inside, the shaker-style kitchen/diner is ideal for socialising, with stone flooring, a breakfast bar, farmhouse-style table and French doors to the patio. When the sun is shining, enjoy meals in the beautiful courtyard garden, which offers sea glimpses and is bordered by an ancient abbot’s wall. Or, for those chilly nights, cosy up beside the roaring wood burner in the spacious lounge and enjoy a film, book or music on the iPod dock. Steps from the courtyard lead to the parking area with room for two cars.

The friendly and traditional village of Charmouth is situated at the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast. With miles of wonderful walks to be enjoyed along the South West Coast Path, the likes of Lyme Regis (2.5 miles), Seatown (4 miles) and Pinhay Bay (5 miles) all lie within easy reach. At the end of a long day on foot, refuel with a delicious meal at the village pub or stock up on supplies at the nearby farm shop (4 miles) and prepare your own feast in your stunning kitchen/diner.

This cottage is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The decor and furniture is great. Everything you could need is in the cupboards and there is plenty of space downstairs for relaxing and eating. This was our fourth stay in Penn Cottage - it is a lovely cottage in a great location for beach, walking and relaxing. Kelly ( the housekeeper) makes sure the house is beautifully clean and welcoming on arrival. We look forward to our next visit.

Lovely comfortable cottage. Very spacious and spotless, and really well equipped with everything we needed. We had the best nights sleep ever and waking up to a sea view was a real bonus. I wouldn't recommend for the elderly as the hills are very steep.
